Pitchfork Top Tracks of 2011

Those cocky bastards at Pitchfork have once again bunged out a top-tracks-of-last-year list, god love 'em. Peruse through selections, don't be gently, be brutal. Is M83 overrated? Yes. Is Azealia Banks sexy? Fuck yeah. Does Inca Kola sell more units annually than Coca Cola in Peru? You know it.

What would have made your number 1?

They've also built a Spotify playlist. Oh! So easy.

Ghetto Underound - Jeff Samuel (Free download)

Ghetto Underground: 'Midwest' Jeff Samuel #06
Recorded live by Jeff Samuel in the year 2000. This long lost mix-tape has just resurfaced thanks to Dan Curtin, who recently discovered it in the basement of his house. The midwest techno scene is steeped in history. The region is responsible for Chicago house, Detroit techno, minimal house, ghetto house and a raft of other rave assault musical genres. The midwest continues to cultivate an alumni of American DJ's and producers that have become some of the most forward thinking and influential artists in underground electronic music. The original gangstas* no doubt!!

Amon Tobin - Vivid Must See

ISAM Live is Tobin's latest brain child - an audio/visual project to partner his latest album release. The Brazilian sound manipulator extraordinaire describes it like this - “The idea was to integrate myself, quite literally, into an audio and visual presentation of the album”.... and that he did folks.

If you want your mind sound-liquified, packaged in a red jar then traded back to you for ears, this Vivid Sydney act is a must see. All confusing metaphors aside... get there kids:
