Sydney's Vivid festival is coming up soon, running from 27th May til 13th June it'll showcase "lights, music and ideas" around Sydney.

Last year's festy was curated by Brian Eno and Lou Reed. This year Modular boss Steve Pavlovic has taken over the reigns and has released a series of cluey statements hinting as to who's playing. Click here for what Pavlovic said.

Here are a few of the (better) guesses from the interweb... hopefully they're right:

Death From Above 1979
Aphex Twin
Nicolas Jaar
The Avalanches
Primal Scream
Forest Swords
Hercules & Love Affair
Joanna Newsom

...fingers crossed kids

Nicolas Jaar: Deep Down The Rabbit Hole

Nicolas Jaar was born in NY but quickly relocated to Santiago de Chile... Click here for Bio.

An absolute treat remix from Mr Jaar...
Listen here: Maceo Plex - Gravy Train (Nicolas Jaar Remix)

Last year he remixed Ellen Allien's tech-seasickness - Flashy Flashy.

Here's a gem off his debut album - Space Is Only Noise. It's really slouchy, but has some nice sax chaos towards the end.

Thom Yorke, Four Tet & Burial - Collaboration

2 collaborations from Thom Yorke, Four Tet & Burial recorded from a radio show surfaced today. They will appear on 12" on Text Records. Another gem following the news of the Four Tet/Caribou split release. Clicky mastery from pom trio on side one with the cloudy-with-a-chance of-rain sounding Ego. The film clip should have a hobo clown dancing in the wet... and if it doesn't - may Thom Yorke catch another bung eye next time the wind changes.

The other side is Mirror, not on the same level, but intriguing nonetheless:

New Tracks - Caribou & Four Tet Are Fly-kicking Ass

After Playground Weekender, two acts were on a lot of kid's lips - Caribou and Four Tet. Both had classy albums in 2010 and both have cart-wheeled into the new year with the following releases (Note - Daphni is Caribou's other name):

Four Tet - Pinnacles

Daphni - Ye Ye

These are to come out on a split vinyl release through Text Records.
