The Cure In Sydney For Vivid Festival

The Cure "Reflections" will see the band perform their first three albums live at the Sydney Opera House on May 31 and June 1 as part of Vivid Sydney Festival.

The Cure’s Robert Smith says, “Vivid LIVE is an exceptional event, and we are very excited to be taking part. We have played a lot of memorable shows in Australia – we first performed here in 1980, and this will be our seventh trip – but it will be our first time onstage in the Sydney Opera House, and we want to do something unique to mark the occasion. Combining Cure members past and present in a live filmed interpretation of our first three albums feels to me like it should do the trick!”

Vivid LIVE curator Stephen Pavlovic says "From my teenage years to the present day, The Cure have always been one of the most inspiring bands I have ever come across. To have the opportunity to include them in the line up is an honour equal to curating Vivid LIVE."

Midland - Harry Agius Is Coming

Since we last mentioned Midland, aka Harry Agius, he has released an assortment of glorious little jingles that would get even Stephen Hawkings up out of his chair and bopping. He's definitely one talented kid. Across multiple genres, his songs have a conciseness about them, listening to them you know each element is exactly where Harry intended it to be.

Expect big things.

Listen: Midland - Through Motion

Listen: Ramadanman & Midland - Your Words Matter

Listen: Midland - Shelter

He is playing at Chinese Laundry later this month - Click For Details On Facebook.

Wu Tang To Tour Australia

After 2009's brief visit to Australia, the mighty Wu-Tang Clan are set to return to our shores this year... hopefully with the whole crew this time. Crowd favourite Meth was missing last time, much to eveyone's disappointment and obviously ODB wasn't there (bless his crack addicted soul). However there's a chance one of Ol' Dirty's sons (NOTE - he fathered 13 kids) "Boy Jones" could be touring with them. A decendant of Dirty is better than no Dirty at all.

“I guess we better let you know the tour is 100% real, paid & locked in,” a message from the promoters read. “We’re just finalizing sponsors & media partners. An official announcement will be released in less than 2 weeks.”
